CUSD Technology Department Prepares Sites for SBAC

The Coronado Unified School District Technology Department has been working hard to prepare the school site netbooks and desktop computers for the upcoming Smarter Balanced Assessment (SBAC).

In order for students to take the SBAC, a computer based assessment, the must log in using a specific SBAC Lockdown Browser.  This Lockdown Browser is required by the state and will put the computer into a testing mode for students.

The CUSD Technology Department must install the SBAC Lockdown Browser on every computer and netbook to be used during the upcoming testing at all school sites. There are a total of 1160 netbooks and desktop computers districtwide that will be prepared for testing.

Each machine prepared is also installed with the following necessary updates:

  • Java Plugin
  • Adobe Air
  • Adobe Reader
  • Chrome Browser
  • Firefox Browser
  • Flash Plugin
  • QuickTime

Additionally, the SBAC assessment requires Microsoft Internet Explorer 10 or 11.  All netbooks and computers are being checked for current versions of Internet Explorer and updated if necessary.
