Olympic Team to Train in Coronado for 2016 Games

The US Open Water National Swim Team will train at Coronado’s Brian Bent Memorial Aquatics Complex (BBMAC) this August. The swim team will use their time in Coronado as the last training camp before departing to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil for the 2016 Summer Olympics.

The US Open Water National Swim Team athletes compete in the 10KM marathon. The USA team took silver in the women’s 10KM and placed 7th in the men’s 10KM at the 2012 Olympics.

BBMAC is familiar with hosting elite teams as they cater to college swim teams throughout the year. Since November of 2015, they have hosted almost 600 college swimmers. They have seven more teams scheduled for the spring of 2016.
