2026-27 School Year
Interdistrict Transfer (IDT) Update
CUSD will begin accepting IDT Pre-Applications in late May 2026. Specific details regarding the application process will be posted here;
please check this page periodically for updates.
No Early Applications: Please do not email transfer permits at this time, as applications are not yet being accepted.
To ensure a streamlined process and accurate record keeping, all inquiries must be handled via email. Please do not call or visit the District Office or school sites with transfer-related questions. Email all inquiries to: transfer@coronadousd.net
You must enroll your student, remain enrolled, and attend school in your home district of residence, pending notification through the IDT process.
Appeals Process
1. District. Any parent or guardian wanting to appeal a decision should send a request to start the process to this email within 14 business days of the permit refusal. You may include any supplemental information that is relevant to support your request.
2. SDCOE. The person having legal custody of the student(s) may appeal, within 30 calendar days of the failure or refusal to issue an interdistrict attendance permit, to the San Diego County Board of Education. Failure to appeal within the required time is good cause for denial of an appeal. An appeal shall be accepted only upon verification by the county board of education’s designee that appeals within the school districts have been exhausted. Questions can be directed to the San Diego County Office of Education at interdistrict.transfer.appeal@sdcoe.net.
