Certificated and Classified Substitute Information
Thank you for your interest in substituting with Coronado Unified School District. All classified and certificated substitute opportunities are posted to EdJoin as they are needed. If you are unable to locate a posting, there may not be a current need for additional substitutes. Please be sure to check EdJoin often for our most up to date opportunities.
For consideration in any position, please submit all required supporting documents and a completed EdJoin application to the appropriate posting. You will then be contacted via email with next steps to onboard as a substitute. Please be advised, all substitutes will be required to furnish evidence of a negative tuberculosis test dated within the last four years and will be required to submit livescan fingerprints for processing with Coronado Unified School District.
Classified substitutes support the District and its students in all non-teaching capacities such as cafeteria workers, instructional assistants, campus assistants, custodians, and office support staff. Classified substitutes are generally paid an hourly rate coinciding with step one of the positions classification. Please click the links to view job descriptions and salary schedules for more information.
Certificated substitutes are paid a daily rate and must hold a valid California teaching credential issued through the Commission on Teaching Credentialing (CTC). Acceptable credentials for a substitute teacher are the Emergency 30 Day Substitute Permit, Multiple Subject, Single Subject, and Education Specialist permits. For information on how to apply for a credential, please visit the San Diego County Office of Education (SDCOE).
